Bachelors Degrees
Types of Degrees…Is Getting A Bachelors Degree Worth It?

A Bachelors degree is an undergraduate degree that you obtain after completing, usually, four full years of college or university in which you’ll obtain 120-128 credits. You’ll also need to earn a majority of these 120-128 credits in a main area. (E.g. – Science.)

The two major distinctions of a Bachelor’s degree are as follows:

Bachelor of Arts – To obtain this you’ll need to earn the majority of your credits in liberal arts classes. Some examples of these are the art and social sciences.

Bachelor of Science – To obtain this you’ll need to earn the majority of your credits in life sciences, mathematics, or physical sciences.

Note: For schools that offer career training in such things as nursing or criminal justice you’ll be awarded a B.S – Bachelor of Science Degree – even though your main focus during your studies was not on the sciences.

Imagine a ladder. At the bottom we have a high school education – at the top a p.h.d. This is the typical earnings ladder; the higher up your education the higher up your pay will, generally, be.

To give you an idea of why the Bachelor’s Degree is so popular the average person who gets a Bachelors Degree will earn double what someone straight out of high school will earn. On top of that those with a Bachelors Degree will also earn one third more than those with an associates degree – which is the degree lower than a bachelors.

Not only is the income gap big and growing but when you go on to extra schooling your open to more opportunities in life. That dream job you always had with the corner glass office is literally only a few steps away.
